A combination of light spring rains, a summer drought, poor irrigation, low crop yields in the north and north-west of the country and rising world food prices is said to have left a third of Afghans - an estimated 8.4 million people - facing possible famine. - from “Call for Afghan Berlin Airlift” - BBC.com

In response to this need, our team in Afghanistan is accepting funds for a winter food disribution program. In talking with UN, they found approximately 450 families in three villages on the border of Afghanistan who were hit especially hard this past winter.
